Mid Coast Hospital Auxiliary Yard Sale Donations

Mid Coast Hospital Auxiliary is seeking donations for the Grand and Glorious Yard Sale.

Donations can be dropped off every Wednesday and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to Noon through May 13 at Merrymeeting Plaza, 147 Bath Road in Brunswick.

For furniture pick-up, or if donating the contents of a home or business, call (207) 373-6015. All donations are tax deductible.

The Yard Sale is open to the public in a suite of boutiques at Merrymeeting Plaza May 19 – 21. Visit for more information.

With season subscriptions at a record high, single tickets are expected to go FAST for the 2017 season. Don’t be left out this summer and get your single tickets starting WEDNESDAY, APRIL 26!

Gelato Fiasco Brunswick Area Teen Center Scoop-a-thon

Join us on Wednesday, 4/26, 11 am – 11 pm to support Brunswick-area youth by purchasing ANY item at regular price at Gelato Fiasco in Brunswick. Gelato Fiasco will donate 100 percent of sales beyond daily seasonal average to the Brunswick Area Teen Center.

Local “celebrity” scoopers scheduled each hour and lots of entertainment throughout the day. Last year, more than 1000 people came together to support the Teen Center! Visit for schedules.

Pejepscot Historical Society: Brown Bag Speaker Series

Join us for a lecture on the topic “Let’s Play: Childhood in Brunswick: 1800-1950” with guest curator and Bowdoin Class of 2017 student Catherine Cyr. Exhibit will be on display in PHS’s upstairs gallery Spring 2017. Bring a bag lunch, and enjoy cookies and beverages provided by PHS. Suggested donation at the door.

Kids Tennis at Maine Pines

Junior Kids Tennis is a fast growing lifetime sport! Have your kids join us at Maine Pines on the court for fun games and drills as they learn to play tennis.

Preschool kids meet Thurs from 11:45-12:30, kids ages 4-7 meet on Mon and/or Wed from 4-5, kids ages 8-11 meet on Mon and/or Wed from 5-6.

Middle School kids meet on T/Th/Fri from 4-5 pmball-boy-girl

High School kids meet on T/Th/Fri from 3-4.

Costs vary based on program, but ranges from $40-$69/month. We also offer Saturday Jr. Tennis for kids ages 11-18 and Learn to Rally Saturday tennis for kids ages 4-11.

Small Changes Group Coaching Program

Small Changes is a health coaching program with a built-in support group so we can all make small changes towards our bigger health goals together. The meetings are every other Wednesday night starting April 19, 2017 for a three month total commitment (6 sessions)

The sessions are $30 each ($60/month) but you will receive so much more than information. There will be giveaways, handouts, and maybe a surprise or two. There is a limited number of participants so make sure you sign up here to reserve your spot!

Author Event: Richard Rubin

Richard Rubin, author of The Last of the Doughboys returns to Curtis to discuss his new book, Back Over There: One American Time-Traveler, 100 Years since the Great War, 500 Miles of Battle-scarred French Countryside, and Too Many Trenches, Shells, Legends and Ghosts to Count.  Copies of the book will be for sale at the event.

Hunters and Herders of Northern Siberia

Hunters and Herders of Northern Siberia: Photography by Bryan Alexander

Bryan Alexander has been going to the Arctic since 1971 with camera in hand, capturing the lives of people and places on film. In 1993 he began spending extended periods of time in northern Siberia and the lives of the indigenous people of the region became the focus of his work. In his lecture, richly illustrated with some of his best photographs, Alexander will talk about his work with Siberia’s indigenous hunters and herders.
