Maine State Music Theatre presents two hour-long children’s interactive performances that will combine classic fairytale literature with contemporary musical adaptations. The first performance starts at 10 AM and the second at 3 PM.
The free hour-long programs will feature readings from the original books and live performances, video and audio from MSMT’s 2017 Theatre for Young Audiences shows, Sleeping Beauty and Alice and Wonderland. Curt Dale Clark, MSMT’s Artistic Director, and local actress and educator Kristen Thomas will perform with Marcia Gallagher on keyboards and with Youth Services Librarian Pam Jenkins and Broadway World’s Carla Maria Verdino-Süllwold serving as narrators.
The programs are designed to be interactive with children having the opportunity to meet the artists involved and ask questions. Prior to the performances, Curtis Library will make available reading lists and story and media materials for youngsters to borrow, and at the performances, study materials and activity sheets will be distributed to involve the children in the continuing imaginative process.
Both programs are free to the public and are underwritten by a generous gift from the Maine Humanities Council.
For more program information, contact Olivia Wenner at Maine State Music Theatre at email@example.com.
