Henry Ward Beecher and the Scandal of the Century.  Harriet Beecher Stowe’s younger brother Henry Ward Beecher was considered the most famous preacher of his day for many reasons. Come learn about his career as a minister, and the famous, year-long court case in which he was embroiled.

Join Stowe House Educator Cathi Belcher each month for Tea and a Talk about Harriet Beecher Stowe in the 63 Federal Street home where she lived and wrote Uncle Tom’s Cabin from 1850-52. Teas are held the 3rd Thursday of each month from 1-2:30 pm and are by Reservation Only.

Reserve your spot and print out your entry ticket each month at: bowdoin-college-library.ticketleap.com

Starting January 2018, due to over-popularity, only ticket holders will be admitted.

Teas are free of charge but donations to help with food costs and continue programming are much appreciated. Tea With Harriet is sponsored by the Bowdoin College Library.
