Music on the Mall

Music on the Mall, Downtown Brunswick’s Summer Concert Series, presents FREE concerts Wednesday evenings at 6PM* throughout the summer on the Brunswick TownMOM text test new color Mall (Green, see map). Grab a blanket or chair, bring your family and friends, order a picnic dinner or dine at a local Brunswick restaurant, then relax and enjoy great music. FREE Admission.

**August 22nd Concert rescheduled to Thursday, August 23rd at 6 PM with Cilantro!

Summer Dance 2018

The Moving Company is pleased to offer their  Summer Dance 2018 schedule to the Midcoast community!

The Moving Company Dance Studio is an arts focused, technique driven, student centered facility where qualified teachers offer a high-quality dance education to students of all ages.

This year’s 5-week summer dance summer dance session will run July 9 – August 11, and features our popular preballet, ballet/tap combo, ballet, modern and tap classes for ages 2 through adult.

Maine Pines Tennis Camp at Bowdoin

Junior Camp Daily Program

8:45- 12:15 Strokes & Tactics Game based play that combines stroke execution and tactics. The camp prides itself in making learning tennis fun and easy.

12:15-1:30 Pool and lunch

1:30-3:30 Davis Cup Play Each child is placed on a team for the week
-Each team competes both on and off the court
-Strokes, strategy, managing a match, working with a partner, being part of a team are all learned during Davis Cup Play

Animal Camp

Coastal Humane Society and Lincoln County Animal Shelter’s Animal Camp is  a fun and educational experience that is all animals all week long! Campers spend time each day interacting with  animals, hearing from shelter professionals, and taking part in fun activities that help animals and raise awareness about sheltering and other animal-related issues. Campers will not only learn about shelter pets, but also wildlife, farm, and even exotic animals!  Camps meet daily for one week and are offered to kids entering grades 1-2, 3-4, and 5-6.

Points of View Art Gallery hosts mid-coast artists Nan Thyer Ross and Stuart Ross from July 2 to August 3.  Well-known for working in fabric and oil respectively, Fabrications highlights their recent work.  On the 3rd floor, Tim Banks and Ed McCartan bring Flower Power to life.

Tea With Harriet

Tea With Harriet: Held the third Thursday of each month at 1 PM. Come have tea and celebrate the life and legacy of Harriet Beecher Stowe through an entertaining talk that highlights different topics relating to her writing, her family and her extraordinary life.  The event is free, but due to popularity, tickets are required, and are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tickets become available on the third Thursday of each month for the follow month’s event.  Tea With Harriet is held at 63 Federal Street, Brunswick, in the home where Harriet Beecher Stowe lived and wrote Uncle Tom’s Cabin.

The event is free and open to the public.

Gather your supplies and come to Open Studio at The Grand Orange Arts Center! Open Studio includes the use of…   

  • Tables and chairs 
  • Easels (table top; if needed) 
  • Sink for cleanup
  • WiFi
  •  And don’t forget that you can get most of your  art supplies downstairs at The Mix!  
  • Free on-street parking (parking available nights & some weekend hours at the eye doctor lot behind us as well as at Bangor Savings Bank).

Open Studio Summer 2018 Calendar: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from  July 9-August 10th between the hours of 9am-12pm and 1-4pm.

What you’ll learn

Come join us in the first season of camp at the Grande Orange Art Center.  We are looking for emerging artists between the ages of 12-16 that are excited about learning new mediums and techniques. 

Session one will take place August 20th to the 24th and will be focused on cartooning techniques and watercolor. 
Camp will include trips to local galleries and museums, yoga, and other exciting activities. Local artists will be leading the workshops and look forward to inspiring the next generation of artists.
