New Ventures Maine logoTake charge of your career and create an action plan to achieve success. In this free, month-long, online class with New Ventures Maine, you will learn how your current skills connect to future careers, identify high-growth job fields, explore education and training options, and strengthen your resume for a targeted job search.

Facilitated by New Ventures Maine staff through assignments and online forums, this online class can be completed on your own schedule during the weeks of the class. Graduates of My Next Career Move are eligible to apply for the University of Maine at Augusta GEN Scholarship, to be used at any UMA location.

Peanut Butter & Jelly Drive

During the month of May,  join Bangor Savings Bank in the fight against hunger by donating peanut butter and jelly. All donations will be distributed to local food pantries. Drop off your donation at any Bangor Savings Bank branch. Take a photo of yourself donating and send to socialmedia@bangor.com and we will upload to our Facebook page.

For every #SelflessSelfie we receive, Bangor Savings Bank will donate 2 additional jars of peanut butter to the drive!

(Windows or Mac…) Bring your questions to the Wednesday evenings from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm. If that doesn’t fit your schedule, or if you think your question may require some lengthy discussion, call or e-mail the reference desk to be referred for a specific appointment. AARP Senior Safe Driving Course

Sunnybrook logooJoin instructor Reed Rich from the AARP Driver Safety Program for a presentation at Sunnybrook.

Learn more about age related driving adjustments you can make in regards to vision, hearing and reaction time as well as a refresher of the rules of the road. Sunnybrook is covering the cost for this for each participant. Refreshments will be served. Seating is limited and training materials need to be reserved.

Then and Now exhibit at Points of View Art Gallery

Points of View Artists open their 2018 gallery season with Then and Now, showing artwork that reflects the artistic development each artist has experienced over the years.  With works by 14 artists – each of whom has shifted in technique and approach – the exhibit presents an abundance of artistic diversity.

Yoga for Cancer

Yoga for Cancer helps cancer patients develop a better sense of wellbeing, stimulate the immune system, and increase flexibility and strength. It is offered by Maine Pines Racquet & Fitness and the Mid Coast Center for Community Health & Wellness.

This program is designed to limit stress, reduce fatigue, and promote healing. Yoga can improve the symptoms of cancer and cancer treatment, while helping patients cope. Benefits include a decrease in fatigue, pain, and anxiety as well as an increase in appetite, better quality sleep, and improved bone density.

Spring Dance Concert at Bowdoin College

Bowdoin College Department of Theater and Dance Presents:

SPRING DANCE CONCERT
With Choreography by Aretha Aoki, Gwyneth Jones, and Vanessa Anspaugh
7:30 PM | Pickard Theater, Memorial Hall

Featured Guest Katy Pyle will perform original work. Pyle is a lesbian choreographer interested in exploring gender through a contemporary lens in the traditional form of Ballet. Students from the Bowdoin College Department of Theater and Dance perform original works choreographed by faculty members Aretha Aoki, Gwyneth Jones, and Vanessa Anspaugh. The program will also feature student choreography.
