New Ventures Maine - My Next Career Move - free online class

New Ventures Maine logoTake charge of your career and create an action plan to achieve success. In this free, month-long, online class with New Ventures Maine, you will learn how your current skills connect to future careers, identify high-growth job fields, explore education and training options, and strengthen your resume for a targeted job search.

Facilitated by New Ventures Maine staff through assignments and online forums, this online class can be completed on your own schedule during the weeks of the class. Graduates of My Next Career Move are eligible to apply for the University of Maine at Augusta GEN Scholarship, to be used at any UMA location.

Adult Tennis Beginner 123

Looking to learn the sport of a lifetime? Played before but haven’t picked up a racket in awhile? Adult Tennis 123 is perfect for you!

You will learn all tennis strokes over the course of a month. Session start the beginning of each month; choose from one of the following: Tues. 9-10am, Wed. 6-7pm, or Sat. 10-11am. Cost is $55 and includes free court time on the weekends, a free cardio tennis class, a free social tennis mixer, and more! There is an option to join fitness and yoga as well.

Tennis for Kids

Have your kids join us on the court to learn the sport of a lifetime!

Kids will play fun games as they learn skills and strategies. RED BALL (ages 4 1/2-7) meets Mondays and/or Wednesday from 4:15-5pm.

Cost is $40/1 day/week for a month; $65/2 days/week for a month. ORANGE BALL meets Mon and/or Wed from 5-6pm, same cost. To register call 729-8433 or email jason.terry718@gmail.com. See you on the courts!

If you’ve only ever eaten mushrooms, but are interested in growing them, come to this unique talk. Mike McNally, mushroom enthusiast and member of the Maine Mycological Association, will be speaking about the many types of mushrooms you can grow at home with very little effort, and why you may want to do so. Did you know mushrooms can bolster the immune systems of pollinators, be a human medicinal supplements, and increase your garden yields? We hear they’re also tasty. Learn how logs, spawn, wood chips and coffee grounds may have added value. Bring your questions and grow with us.
