Mid Coast Hospital and Maine Pines Racquet & Fitness are again partnering to offer a yoga program designed to limit stress, reduce fatigue, and promote healing for cancer patients. “Yoga for Cancer” takes place weekly, beginning September 21 . It is free and open to cancer patients before, after, or during treatment.
Research suggests that yoga can improve the symptoms of cancer and cancer treatment, while helping patients cope. Benefits include a decrease in fatigue, pain, and anxiety as well as an increase in appetite, better quality sleep, and improved bone density. The Yoga for Cancer program will help cancer patients develop a better sense of well being, stimulate the immune system, and increase flexibility and strength.

Tea With Harriet – Join Stowe House Educator Cathi Belcher for Tea and a talk about “Harriet and the Holidays” on Thursday, December 21 from 1 – 2:30. RESERVATIONS ONLY (207-725-3155). We’ll talk about the holiday traditions of the Stowes, such as those practiced by the family during their two yeard here in Brunswick. Cathi’s latest annual gingerbread house creation, inspired by Harriet, will be unveiled. Seating is very limited; reservations are a must. Tea With Harriet is held the 3rd Thursday of each month at 63 Federal Street, where Harriet Beecher Stowe lived with her family from 1850-52. The event is sponsored by the Bowdoin College Library.
Due to the immense popularity of this program, reservations are now required and seats are filled on a first-come, first served basis. Please call 207-725-3155 to leave your name and the number of seats needed.

The Dementia Caregivers Education Series is a free monthly support group offered by Mid Coast Senior Health Center to assist individuals in understanding and caring for someone with memory loss.
Sessions will take place the third Thursday of every month. Events start at 4:00 p.m.
