Music on the Mall

Music on the Mall, Downtown Brunswick’s Summer Concert Series, presents FREE concerts Wednesday evenings at 6 PM throughout the summer on the Brunswick TownMusic on the Mall Brunswick, Maine logo Mall (Green- see map). Grab a blanket or chair, bring your family and friends, order a picnic dinner or dine at a local Brunswick restaurant, then relax and enjoy great music. FREE Admission.

July 26Mes Amis - A Gypsy Jazz trio. A mix of traditional Gypsy, Latin and American jazz standards.
August 2Delta Knights - Specializing in the best of R&B, blues, classic rock and swing.
August 9Honest Millie - Music from the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. Lot’s of swing, some blues, and a bit of jazz and bossa.
August 16Children's Night with Anne Sparling - Children's sing-a-long, bring instruments to shake and play! Concert starts at 5 PM
August 23Maine State Music Theatre Night - Enjoy a variety of performers including The Taffetas!
August 30Three's Country - Country music

All concerts start at 6 PM unless except for Children’s Night (5 PM).
In the case of inclement weather, rain date performances will be held on Thursdays when available.

Summer Dance at The Moving Company Dance Studio

This year’s 5-week summer dance session will run July 10 – August 12, and features our popular preballet, ballet/tap combo, ballet, modern and tap classes for ages 2 through adult. And new this summer, we are happy to be able to offer:

Hip Hop FUNdamentals! – Focusing on the basics of hip hop dance for dancers age 8-12. Students will learn about improvisation, popping, locking, breakdancing and other fundamental styles that make up hip hop dance culture. High energy and fun!

Making Dances – An opportunity for dancers age 8-12 to explore different choreographic concepts as a means to creating their own works. In-studio performance for family and friends at the end of the final class!

Newsies Jr – A high energy musical theater dance class for ages 8-12, featuring a final performance outside Bowdoin College’s Pickard Theater before Maine State Music Theatre’s August 9 production of Newsies!

DaPonte String Quartet concerts

Met Opera Star Kate Aldrich Joins DSQ for “Innerscapes”

 “Innerscapes” consists of Respighi’s string quartet Quartetto Dorico plus two pieces for quartet and mezzo soprano: Samuel Barber’s Dover Beach Op. 3 and Respighi’s Il Tramonto.

A final August concert will feature Quartetto Dorico and Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 7 in F Major Op. 59 No. 1.
