Pysanky! Design Easter eggs using the ancient batik method of wax resist and create your own symbols with local artist Kate Cutko who’s been making pysanky for over 40 years! Class price will include a kit complete with dyes, kistka tool, wax, eggs and printed instructions.

Eat Our Yards – Food for Thought to Plant Your Plot

Join us for a series of lectures meant to help anyone turn their yard into an edible paradise. Learn to decorate your front lawn with edible ornamental s, turn your backyard into a living kitchen pantry, or grow your own medicine. Beginner gardeners can benefit from talks on vegetable gardening strategies, while experts at small-scale growing can expand their skills with knowledge of perennial fruits and vegetables. All can explore gardening beyond traditional crops with the series’ lectures on how novices can care for bees, mushrooms and livestock. Bring your questions, leave with notes, and grow with us! Winter [or early spring] is the perfect time to plan your garden with growing food for preserving in mind. Come learn from Kate McCarty, UMaine Extension Master Food Preserver and Master Gardener, how to plant a preserving garden. Participants will learn the best produce varieties for canning, how much to plant for your household size, and other tips to maximize yield and overall garden health.

Kids Tennis at Maine Pines

Junior Kids Tennis is a fast growing lifetime sport! Have your kids join us at Maine Pines on the court for fun games and drills as they learn to play tennis.

Preschool kids meet Thurs from 11:45-12:30, kids ages 4-7 meet on Mon and/or Wed from 4-5, kids ages 8-11 meet on Mon and/or Wed from 5-6.

Middle School kids meet on T/Th/Fri from 4-5 pmball-boy-girl

High School kids meet on T/Th/Fri from 3-4.

Costs vary based on program, but ranges from $40-$69/month. We also offer Saturday Jr. Tennis for kids ages 11-18 and Learn to Rally Saturday tennis for kids ages 4-11.
