2017 Meet the Candidates Session

Moderator – Mike Feldman, Chair, BDA, former Town Councilor

Candidates invited to participate:
Council District 5 – Chris Watkinson
Council District 7 – James M. Mason
Council at Large – Katherine E. Wilson, Whitney Parrish

Town Council candidates will be asked specific questions dealing with issues of taxes, downtown development, financing of projects.

BDA's Benefit Auction

Magic on Maine

You are invited to the Brunswick Downtown Association (BDA) Live & Silent Auction on ThursdayOctober 19th from 5 to 7:30 pm at The DanielAuction proceeds will support community events hosted by the Brunswick Downtown Association: Music on the Mall, the Community BBQ, the Brunswick Outdoor Arts Festival, Tree Lighting Ceremony with Santa, The Rolling Slumber Bed Races and the Holiday Lighting fund!

 This Silent and Live Auction will offer a variety of items which will be auctioned off by John Bottero Auction Services. Enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres created by The Daniel and a dessert buffet (provided by Wild Oats Bakery and Union Street Bakery), cash bar.
 Tickets: $20/Individual, $30/Two. If you are unable to attend and would like to donate to the BDA, click hereParking: additional parking is available at the Jehovah’s Witness parking lot, next to The Daniel’s parking lot.

Rolling Slumber Bed Races

The 7th Annual Rolling Slumber Bed Races will take place on November 11th at 11 AM on Park Row, Downtown Brunswick. You won’t have to wonder if you’re dreaming … there WILL be beds racing on Park Row!  In the spirit of Community, families, businesses and local organizations can create a bed to race in this amazing, fun-filled event. The Rolling Slumber Bed Race will delight spectators with fast, funny and uniquely created beds — all on wheels!Rolling Slumber Bed Races graphic - Brunswick, Maine

Prizes will be awarded for speed, creativity and team spirit. The event is free for spectators. Since the race can be fast-paced, only adults (over age 18) will be able to participate.

Annual Tree Lighting with Santa

Ring in the season with neighbors and friends at the Brunswick Downtown Association’s Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony! Tree Lighting thumb

  • 2 – 5:00: Enjoy free Horse and Carriage rides, hot cocoa and coffee and cookies.
  • 3:00: Santa and Frosty the Snowman will arrive at 3 PM on a firetruck Santa will then take a seat in the Gazebo to visit with children and hear their Christmas wishes.
  • 4 – 5:00: The Brunswick High School Chorus will sing carols.
  • 5:00: The tree will be lit!
