Healthy people build downtown vitality, fuel economic growth and strengthen our quality of place for future generations. To that end, the Brunswick Downtown Association is participating in the Maine Downtown Center’s Healthy Maine Streets program.
The mission of Healthy Maine Streets is to create vibrant downtowns through community leadership focused on developing place-based work site wellness. Healthy Maine Streets connects small businesses with creative opportunities to make the healthy choice the easy choice.
Downtown businesses with fewer than 20 employees are eligible to participate. Participating in this easy-to-implement program can offer some great benefits for everyone in our community:
Expectations for participating businesses include:
• Participation in monthly Healthy Maine Street Wellness Committee meetings
• Completion of a business wellness assessment
• Completion of wellness surveys by all employees
• Selection of and participation in selected wellness activities
Get Moving on the Mall: You are invited to try a range of fitness activities on the Town Mall. This program is offered FREE to the public by the BDA & the Healthy Maine Streets Wellness Committee, once each month from April to September. Designed to get people moving during their work day, each session will be held from 12-1 on the Mall. Click here for the complete schedule of activites.
