*The Midcoast Hunger Prevention Program has been feeding the hungry in the Brunswick area since 1983. They provide food assistance, sustainable living education and referral services to those in need. The new Backpack Program will be launched in the elementary schools in the Brunswick area this fall. The program is designed to help students who do not have enough food in their home to provide the nutrition they need on the weekend, by sending non-perishable food home with the children in a backpack.
